This comes as a complete shock and seem like a horrible nightmare. Larry has always been a person of character, pride and a overwhelming desire to help others. I can recall Larry providing an opportunity for my self to earn an income with his cleaning business. Where I learned a lot about entrepreneurship and also experiencing the meaning of generosity and kindness as he extended to me personally on a daily bases. I was also a teammate and friend and I can think of a more impressionable human. It brings me great sadness to know that his family will be with out him as they search for peace in his absence.. May God extend his forever healing arms around all of you as you cope with the loss.. Just know that Larry will be missed but never forgotten and also impacted lives positively of others.

- Theodore (Tee) Quarterman, Fort Lauderdale , Fla

Still in extreme shock and in disbelief that a real good man, caring, loving, understanding, intelligent, fun, great friend of mine passed away unexpectedly. I've known larry for 30 years. We met while I was working in the apartment field. He always gave 100% at everything he did. He was always caring a smile with him whenever I seen him or even when we spoke on the phone. Larry would always listen to me and always gave me great advice. I put to you this way HE WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF OF HIS BACK. I could go on for hours with stories of the things he helped me with thru out the years but there is not enough room to reply. Larry you will be missed by me, family, friends. Believe you me the lord ganged an angel. A beautiful soul. I'm praying and thinking of Megan, kids, and family. R.i.p angel Larry Nelson II.

Larry was one of the best coaches ever! He was so patient and taught the girls life lessons and also to be competitive! We won a lot and also had fun! Madison has some great memories of Coach Larry at the YMCA with basketball. We will never forget them! Even when we ran into him in town years later, he was always so kind and asking her how she was doing in her sports and was still supportive of her. Larry was a great dad and family guy! Our hearts go out to Megan and all Larry’s children. May God surround you all with His love in these difficult days ahead.

Larry is a rare man. Extremely able, confident, generous, hard working, humble and a loyal friend are not descriptions usually found in a single person, but Larry was all of those things. We will miss and think of Larry for a long time to come. I could not thank Larry enough for allowing me to call him my friend. We pray for comfort and peace for Megan, all of Larry's children and family.

Dear Sheila, Larry, Megan, and children, words alone can’t express how heartbroken we are over the loss of your precious child, husband, father, brother, grandfather and our nephew and cousin Larry. He and I had just reintroduced ourselves after many years of not seeing or talking to him. We visited him and Megan briefly and had planned to meet again after he fully recovered from his transplant. We shared text and some Facebook chats and I sent him some old pictures of his Nanny and Grandpa Pennington and other family photos from when they were small. Gitte and I were blessed to have this brief but enjoyable time with him. He and family will always remain in our hearts and we shall never forget his beautiful soul. May God rest his soul and give you comfort in the coming days and years. Love always Uncle Mick, Aunt Gitte and family.
