James Aldrick McElveen
March 02, 1952 - July 02, 2018
James Aldrick McElveen, 66, died July 2, 2018, at his home, under the care of Hospice Savannah and surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 2, 1952, he was a native and lifelong resident of Savannah. He attended St. James School and was a graduate of Benedictine Military School. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee where he served on the Adjutant’s staff, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Friendly Sons, of which he was a past president.
Surviving are his wife of 35 years, Clarissa McElveen; his daughter, Mary Kate McElveen; his son, Thomas McElveen; his sister, Andrea Richardson; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and special gratitude to Neil Kenny for his loyal friendship and to Jerry and Cindy Bunger for their love and guidance through this challenging time. He was predeceased by two brothers, Barry and Don McElveen.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel followed by a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm.
A funeral service will be held at 9:30 am on Friday, July 6, 2018, in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors. Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests remembrances to Hospice Savannah, P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416.
