Bill was a dear friend of mine, a through the years friend, a friend who made time to come see Andy and me when it had been too long, a friend who cared about his family and friends, who sang soulfull Scottish ballads with his brother and a friend who walked faster than anyone I know, a friend who did not mind me being a third wheel on a very special trip to Scotland and who translated for me and told me what “on yer bike” really means. I loved knowing Bill and will miss him terribly. He and Adele mean a great deal to me. It is impossible right now to think of one without the other. So, I will focus on the wonderful memories, like Bill running across my front yard holding a Thanksgiving Turkey the size of a small cow.

We lost a dear friend in Bill and we'll always remember the wonderful times we shared with him and Adele. Bill was a staunch ally and supportive friend during my years in the government, and the friendship continued long after. I will sorely miss my old confidant and golfing buddy. Bill was a wonderful and enjoyable friend over the years. We spent many years on golf trips and Bill would make the group his Scottish potatoes, that were loved by all. We enjoyed many times with Bill and Adele, and our sincere condolences go out to Adele and their family. Bill and his kilt will be missed. God Bless!
