Wynnogene Shaw Day

Wynnogene Shaw Day, 93, passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021 at her residence.  She was born in Cherry Lane Township, North Carolina, daughter of the late Martin H. and Recie McKnight Shaw. 

Mrs. Day was a graduate of Strayer University Business School and retired as a Library Manager from the US Corps of Engineers. In 1978, she and her husband Ray moved to Savannah.  She attended Compassion Christian Church and for many years, was active in her family’s genealogy.  Above all, Mrs. Day adored her family.  She enjoyed preparing meals, opening her home and being a mom to everyone.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray V. Day and brothers, Dwight and Conrad Shaw.

Surviving are her children, Michael (Jacquelyn) Day of Stevensville, MD; David (Kathleen) Day of Savannah; Philip (Elena) Day of Savannah; Sheree (Wayne) Pryor of Casa Grande, AZ; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
