Dorothy Brown Morrison

Dorothy Brown Morrison, 87, passed away March 10, 2021 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 13, 1933 in Twin City, Georgia, daughter of the late James Roscoe Brown and Marguerite Hall Brown. After growing up in Twin City, where she attended Emanuel County Institute, she attended Georgia Teachers College where she earned a degree in Home Economics. She taught for a number of years in Sardis, Georgia, as well as Bradwell Institute in Hinesville, Georgia. She was a long-time member of Windsor Forest Baptist Church, Windsor Forest Garden Club, and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She especially enjoyed having her family at her home for dinners and special occasions. An annual highlight was gathering the family for the Scottish games where she and her husband represented the Clan Morrison Society for twenty years.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother James Roscoe Brown Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, James Francis Morrison; sister Shirley B. Crawford; three daughters, Jennifer M. Scott (Frank), Johanna M. Everson (Keith), Alane M. Claxton (Duane); five grandchildren, Amanda L. Heldreth (Daniel), Amy L. Marona (Brenton), James R. Everson, David D. Claxton Jr., Jenna A. Everson; and four great-grandchildren, Hudson J. Marona, Paxton L. Marona, Miller J. Heldreth and Mason H. Heldreth.

There will be a visitation at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held at the Coleman Cemetery in Twin City, Georgia on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Windsor Forest Baptist Church, 12521 White Bluff Rd., Savannah, GA 31419.

Jim, I'm so sorry to hear about Dot. I head about her joinig Bob in Heaven with Jesus. They will be waiting for us to join them. Karen and I were to Beaufort National Cemetery today to visit with Bob today. Think about the good times together and how wonderful it will be when we see them again in Heaven.
