Celebrating the life of

Aletha "Dean" (Lewis) Carter

Passed away on March 03, 2021

Aletha

Aletha “Dean” (Lewis) Carter, 73, passed away on March 3rd, 2021 after a sudden illness.

Dean was born on November 7th, 1947 in Savannah, GA. Dean was a long time resident of Tybee Island, GA where she was a staple of T&M convenient store for many years and later provided much of the low country’s seafood as co-owner of R&R Seafood.

Dean was devoted wife, mother, grandmother and was highly anticipating becoming a great-grandmother. On just about any evening, Dean could be found in local bingo halls with her friends playing cards or meticulously executing more bingo sheets than one person should ever have. When not in the bingo halls, Dean found immense pleasure visiting family and friends as well as traveling to new destinations with her daughters.

Dean was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Carter, her daughter Brenda Gayle (Carter) Warren, her long-term companion Robbie Roberson and siblings that include: Infant Lewis, Marilene (Lewis) Brinson, Betty Ruth (Lewis) Carter, Johnny Lewis, Roger “Billy” Lewis, Leroy Lewis, and Robert Lewis.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda & Bryan Ewing of Springfield, VA; granddaughter Chelsea Ewing of St. Louis, MO; grandson Bryan “Paul” Ewing, Jr. of LeMoore, CA, her sisters Joyce Lewis Jenkins of Suwanee, GA and Dorothy Lewis Newman of Garden City, GA.

A graveside service will be held for Ms. Carter Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Brickyard Cemetery, 805 Fort Argyle Rd, Savannah, GA.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks loved ones to consider donating funds or blood to the American Red Cross to help continue the fight against COVID-19.
