Sebastian “Ben” Sparacino, 77, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2021 in Savannah, GA. He was born July 16, 1943 in Montevago, Sicily to the late Salvatore and Rosalia Di Gerlando Sparacino. Ben graduated from Bushwick High School and City College of New York (CCNY).
Ben served in the United States Army and established his own business B.S.F. Business Forms. He moved to the Landings on Skidaway Island in the early 1990’s and owned the popular restaurant Savannah Steakhouse. Ben loved to travel, sail, play pool and bacce. He was an amazing chef who loved to enjoy a meal he made with those who meant the most to him. Ben was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Salvatore Sparacino and his wife Christina, daughter, Joanie Ferguson and her husband Mike, his significant other, Patty Denoe, sister and brother-in-law, Marie and Jim Jefts, and his brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Doreen Sparacino. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ciara Sparacino, Julia Sparacino, Kyle Ferguson, Nikki Ferguson, one great-grandson, Noah Yee, nephews, Jim Jefts, Anthony Jefts, Anthony Sparacino and Michael Sparacino.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date, with inurnment in St. John’s Cemetery in New York.
In remembrance of Ben Sparacino’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the American Lung Association.
