Celebrating the life of
Mary Sullivan Curran
Passed away on February 03, 2021
Mary Sullivan Curran, 91, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Savannah, GA.
Mary was born on August 23, 1929 in Shamokin, PA to Anna Gable Sullivan and Palmer J. Sullivan. She and her siblings, PJ and Maureen, were raised in Philadelphia, PA. She was the widow of Michael Jordan Curran and they had six children.
Mary is survived by her six children: Anne C. Shira (Bill), Michael J. Curran Jr. (Jan), Mary C. Blalock (Wrenn), Brian G. Curran (Tara), Christopher Curran (Kelly) and Kitty C. Collins (Lewis). Also surviving her are 16 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
A private family grave side service will be held on Saturday, February 6, 2021 with Father John Lyons officiating.
Mary, the Queen of the Curran Clan, loved family parties, world travel, playing bridge and having lunches with her numerous dear friends over the years and summers at Tybee.
Our mother was funny, had long discussions solving the world’s problems, was unbelievably generous and supportive with all of her children and their families and was our rock.
Mary raised her family in Blessed Sacrament Church and School and in her later life attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 1707 Bull Street, Savannah, GA 31401.

To the entire Curran family, my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your mom. Her dry Irish wit and sense of humor was always present the few times I was around her. It was a gift and she never failed to bring a smile, even at funerals. She will be missed and your loss will be shared by many. May she rest in peace. John McCarthy

To the Curran Clan, your mother Mary was such a wonderful person and dear friend of my mother, Barbara. I looked at her as a second mother and loved her very much. It pains me to hear of her passing but in that I know Heaven has gained an Angel. Heaven will not be the same with Mary and Barbara together again. Card playing all around.

February 5, 2021 Mary was a fixture at our household throughout the past 50 years. Always bringing cheer and having liquid cheer, of the martini variety, with our mother Nancy. They were besties and I'm sure Mary, Nancy, and Barbara Williams are toasting to eternal life as I write. I can't not think of Mary whenever cooking collards or rutabagas (haha!), a passion that Nancy and she shared. They also shared books, movies, bridge, yakking, and travel together! Us Shea's, Curran's, and Williams' have grown up together over the years and share many fond memories (thankfully some of us are still making them:-)! I'll never forget! When Nancy's mother, our grandmother, died, Mary was there fixing food and supporting Nancy. Mary said to me: "Nancy & I are on the front line now!" Well, she's passed over the line and has left us to serve on that line. I raise a toast to a wonderful, strong and resilient woman, who blessed us and who was blessed with a full and wonderful life and family. I pray for each of you Curran's at this time, cause there ain't nobody like "mama"! I feel your loss and pray for ya'll to have peace and wonderful memories of a great Queen! So from our family to yours, may God Bless you all and may Mary rest in the peace of Christ! Love, Sandy Shea Davis Sandy Shea Davis Friend
