Ruth Brigdon Ulmer

Ruth LaVerne Brigdon Ulmer, 92, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at her daughter’s home in Savannah.  She was born April 12, 1928 in Savannah, GA to the late Newton Jasper Brigdon and Laudess Adams James.  She attended Commercial High School.  Mrs. Ulmer was a former member of Calvary Baptist Temple and was a member of Cresthill Baptist Church.  She was a longtime bookkeeper for various companies throughout Savannah, including her family business, Ulmer Plumbing and Heating, as well at a bookkeepr for Meddin Brothers.  She enjoyed painting, and in her senior years took art classes and computer courses so she could keep up with family and friends thru emails.   Her greatest joy was taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren any time she could. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Robert H. (Bobby) Ulmer, her brothers, Newton Jasper (Jack) Brigdon, Lamar Brigdon, and Harry Brigdon, as well as her sister, Marjorie (Margie) Brigdon Rogers.

Surviving are her three daughters, Linda U. Boyette (Stephen) of Rincon, Debbie U. Moore (Lindy) of Savannah, and Sandra U. Boswell (Tyler) of Guyton.  Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Chris Boyette (Kristin) of Rincon, Alan Boyette (Bonnie) of Rincon, Ryan Moore (Heather) of Brunswick, Heather Boyette Beason (Thomas) of Rincon, Brandon Lamb of Richmond Hill, Cody Moore (Kourtney) of Eden, and Brooks Lamb (Alex) of Dawsonville, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, Christopher Boyette, Andrew Boyette, Bralyn Lamb, Chase Moore, Aiden Moore, Caden Lamb, Carson Beason, Bennett Beason, Hannah Boyette, Amelia Beason, Charlotte Moore, Sarah Boyette, Jack Moore, Penn Moore, Anniston Moore, and Claire Ruth Lamb, and also several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Fox & Weeks, Hodgson Chapel with burial to follow in Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery on Wheaton Street.

Ruth was always such a lot of fun to be around. When there was a family get together I always wanted to be with her because she made it more special. Ruth will be missed by her family and especially her grandchildren. My love and thoughts are with her family.
