John was a great stepdad. He treated me like I was his blood. I am fortunate enough to have his guidance. For over 30 years, John and my Mom had an incredible love. He was so very proud of Benji and his family. Since Mom passed on the 1st on July, 2017, he has reached out to Benji. Their relationship was a closeness most never achieve. He was so proud of his son, daughter-in-law and grandkids. Johns the last words to me. He loved me and that he was proud of me. John was my friend, Dad and my family. It saddens me that his memorial didn't bring together his whole family. John will always be be a voice in my head. I love you, John. And tell Mom I love her.

John had another wife from 1991 till 2003. My mother. Laura. He married her when he was only 26 and I was ten. John certainly was not a perfect person by any means but neither am I. None of us are. He was funny as everyone says. We didn't always see eye to eye when I was a teen but as my adult years pass by I think back to little tid bits of wisdom he would give. I am so glad to read that he finally reconnected with his son Benji. Not ever having met my own biological father John was the only father figure I had so I thank him for that and I hope he finds his way to peace
