Dr. Ann Sinnott Considine

Dr. Ann Sinnott Considine of Savannah, GA, loving wife and mother, passed away on December 30, 2020. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 65 years, John (Jack) Murray Considine, Sr. and is survived by their five children; Kenneth J. Considine of St. Augustine, FL; Brian F. Considine and his wife Chantal Gaudry Considine of Savannah; Denise Considine Thompson of Savannah and her late husband John Francis Thompson; Francine Considine Ware and her husband Dr. James J. Ware of Savannah; and Dr. John M. Considine, Jr. and his wife Tiffany Kurtz Considine of Savannah.

She is also survived by nine grandchildren (Beau Considine, Brad Considine, Ryan Considine, Kevin Ware, Katie Ware, Michelle Ware, Jimmy Ware, Jr., Cara Considine, and Jack Considine, III) and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents John Joseph Sinnott and Louise Marie Deely of Tarrytown, NY; and her brother John Joseph Sinnott, Jr. of Rye, NY.

Born Ann Louise Sinnott on May 7, 1929 in Tarrytown, NY, she attended Our Lady of Good Council Academy in White Plains, NY where she was a gifted scholar and athlete. Upon graduation in 1947 she married her husband Jack and moved to Savannah the following year.

Ann is a graduate of Armstrong State College in Savannah, GA where she received a Master of Education Behavior Disorders, and a Bachelor of Science Degree Speech Correction. She also earned a Doctor of Education Administration and Supervision from Nova University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She was selected Georgia Special Education Administrator of the Year in 1991.  

Ann was Special Education Administrator for the Georgia Learning Resources System, Southeast Region.

The wake will be held on Tuesday, January 5th at Fox & Weeks Funeral Home, 7200 Hodgson Memorial Drive. Visitation hours are from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and the Rosary will follow.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 6th at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 8412 Whitefield Avenue. The celebrant for the funeral Mass is Fr. Daniel Firmin, pastor of St. James. Interment will take place immediately following the Mass at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Ann enjoyed traveling, reading, and bridge. She and Jack were active parishioners at St. James since its inception in 1956. Ann served on the parish council, was a long-time participant in the Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, and taught first grade at St. James School in the 1960s.

Social distancing and the wearing of a mask is required for the safety of everyone attending.
