Mark Mulherin

Mark Edwin Mulherin of Savannah, Ga. died on December 27th, 2020 at his home on Colonel’s Island, Ga. Mark was a native Savannahian and a lifelong resident of this area. He was the son of the late Dr. Joseph and Lena Morris Mulherin. He attended Benedictine Military High School (Class of 1981) and graduated from the University of Georgia in 1988. He was a successful businessman, owning and operating the number one Zaxby’s franchise in the entire chain for a number of years. He was also an accomplished weightlifter in his younger years, winning several 1st place bench press titles in Savannah and surrounding areas. More importantly, he was a father to his only son Evan, whom he shared a special bond. He was a loving brother and friend to many. His beloved partner Cindy was his constant companion and they shared a special life together. Mark always found a way to make those around him laugh and he filled many lives with joy and love. He will always be remembered for his quick smile and passion for life.

Mark is survived by his beloved son Evan, his devoted partner Cindy Castrillo, his sisters Kathleen (Earle), Theresa (Roger), brothers Joseph (Lisa) and Michael, as well as numerous cousins, nieces & nephews.

Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Fox & Weeks, Islands Chapel. 

Private Funeral Service for immediate family only will follow in the chapel, with burial in the Catholic Cemetery.      

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
