Dennis Roy Sukkestad
April 28, 1939 - December 10, 2020
In loving memory of Dennis Roy Sukkestad: Dennis was born on April 28th, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois. Dennis was a lifelong scientist, earning his Baccalaureate of Science in Biology from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 1961. Here is where he met Eleanor, his beloved wife of 59 years. He dedicated over 30 years to government service in the Department of Agriculture as an entomologist studying toxicology. His passion for the natural world extended beyond the laboratory, as he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Dennis loved his family, photography, and animals.
Dennis was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Roy, and is survived by his wife Eleanor (Ellie); son, David John; daughter-in-law, Kathryn; granddaughter, Sophia Marin (of Atlanta); sister, Marlene Niemann (of Phoenix, Arizona); sister-in-law, Margaret Beenken (of Edina, Minnesota); and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Tuesday, December 15th at 1:00 PM in Greenwich Cemetery at Bonaventure.
