Celebrating the life of
Myrle H. "Butch" Olson, Jr.
July 23, 2020 - November 23, 2020
Myrle H. Olson, Jr., 64, died peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2020.
The lifelong resident of Savannah was of the Catholic faith. He was the son of Myrle H. Olson, Sr., and the late Patricia Brady Olson. Butch had a love for flying and was a licensed pilot for many years. He had a passion for science, nature and especially enjoyed the night sky and astronomy.
Butch was predeceased by his mother, Patty, and a brother, Billy Olson.
In addition to his father, Butch leaves behind a wife, Kathy Olson; two children, Sarah Snoddy (Zachary) of Monroe, and Katie Vanderford (Andrew) of Colorado; a sister, Kimberly Michel (Scott) of Savannah; two granddaughters, Emma and Lillie Snoddy; and a niece, Sierra.
Memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Gabe Cummings officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Community Hospice, 904 Mt. Vernon Road, Vidalia, GA 30474.
Uncle Myrle, Kim, and Scot, we are so very sorry. I've been remembering all the great times and adventures me, Pat, Butch and Billy had growing up together. He will be missed. Love to you all.
