I can’t explain the hurt and shock that I am in right now. Coach Case was such a great human and had such a great heart. He always made me happy when I was around him and he was always pleasant even in his not so good days. He lived life to the absolute fullest and strives to make not only himself smile but also every single person around him smile as well. He got me through my worst days and made me happy. I remember in my 6th grade year I did not have many friends. He always made me happy. He would see my in the hallway and scream my name and it was the smallest things that brightened my day. I just saw him last week at the publix that I work at. He checked on me and asked how my high school year is going. We only spoke for a little minute or two but it meant the world. I just wish it was not the last time we spoke. I miss him already. Such a great human being taken too early. I can’t even imagine the hurt you all are going through right now. But, there are so many people who are here for you all. I send all my thoughts and condolences to you guys as you make it through this tough time. Love, Lulu Cowart

- Lulu Cowart, Savannah, Ga

Our thoughts and prayers are with Paige and Family. To Mrs. Case( Donna), you and Mr. Case did a fantastic job of raising Mark, you should be proud. He will be sorely missed by all. I had the pleasure of meeting Mark at Adrian High School. He always had a smile on his face and was kind to everyone. Although we both attended WMU and moved far away, it was great to read Mark's posts on Facebook. He was always full of life and had such a positive outlook and strong faith. I am saddened at his loss, especially for his family and friends. He is an inspiration to us all.

Mark's passing is a loss to all that knew him well. He was the neighbor that you wished you lived next to you. The co-worker that you had interaction on a daily basis. Simply, he was a great person and a good soul. I met Mark many years ago, and not seen him in a long time, but I thought of him often. For Mark let's all say Go BIG BLUE!

- J.J. Davis, Woodstock, Ga

My Sincerest condolences to Mark Case's Mother, Wife, Daughters, and friends. I want those who read this post, to know what I know and all that worked with him or coached with him, or played for him (our son Joseff) or received instruction from him or received counseling from him knew: He was dedicated to creating an OCS brand second to none as a founding member of Georgia's First Start-up Charter Middle School. He was a phenomenal teacher, an exceptional athletic director, a very knowledgeable and competitive head coach, a caring counselor, a professional colleague, and most importantly a man who put the needs of our students, parents, faculty and staff before those of his own! During his last few months when we entered each other's office to check on each other's health, he was always more concerned about my diabetic health and repeatedly begged me to take some time away from work. I informed him when he did the same, then I would do the same. We promised to pray for each other without ceasing. I honored your wishes on the day I heard of your passing. Instead, I just reflected back on the positive memories you provided all of us. Now, you have become our double rainbow in the sky! Gone, but never forgotten! Our Mightiest Titan Rest in Peace! A job well-done sir! Dr. (Coach) Kolman and family!

- Dr. Jennifer Ann Kolman, Savannah, GA

This is such sad news. We thought the world of Mark and will forever be grateful for his involvement with Tiger's soccer career. He was a gentle giant. HE would scream at the girls when they were playing and hug them when they came off. He yelled at Tiger one game and she left in tears and Mark stopped by our house when he left the complex to talk with her. He had a true love for all the players he ever coached. I will always think of him and smile. I'm a better person because I knew him.XOXO

- Margaret and Reggie Davis, Savannah, Georgia

Mr. Case was such an amazing mentor, teacher, and friend. He made my years at Oglethorpe Charter School full of laughter, especially when he played the cowbell at assembly's. Coach Case was a light in a dark room for many kids. He always brought laughter, happiness, and a good lesson with everything he did. From computer class to on the field he would always inspire you to do the best you could. Once leaving OCS he was always someone I looked back and thought of, and every time I was thankful. To the family of Coach Case, thank you for the time you shared with us with him, We knew you all meant so much to him, he would never let us forget. Prayers for you all.

- Chris Pitts, Savannah, GA

So heartbroken for his loss, Coach Case was such a loving and caring person. During OCS years he was my computer teacher and also my soccer coach but more than that he was like a second father to me. He always showed that he believed in me and that I could achieve anything. He always welcomed me and others with a hug and a smile. When I moved back to Savannah he was the first one I saw outside my family at the store and then I saw him at the gym a few months after that he discussed his cancer with me but he told me he couldnt let that defeat him or bring him down. Such a strong man he was. He will be so deeply missed. My prayers and love to his family. My family and I are thinking of y'all. Gertimus (The Mule) the 2 nicknames i was given by my Coach.

Coach Case was one of the greatest friends I ever had. He helped me through some very tough times and many times he was one of the only things keeping me alive. When he was diagnosed I tried to stay positive. If I stay positive it will help him stay positive too right? For the past few months, I've been denying it. How could someone that was that great of a friend be gone? That great of a person. But I've realized that denying it won't bring him back. The best we can do is remember the good times. Remember him not in sadness but in all the great memories he left us with. He is among the stars now. Even when the sun comes up the stars might not be visible but that doesn't mean they aren't there. He will always be there watching over us. Keeping us safe even now. If you ever feel alone just look up. He is right there watching over us. Thank you for giving us this amazing person. Things will get better soon.
