Lee L. Vanatta

Lee Lyon Vanatta, Savannah. Lee Lyon Vanatta passed away on October 21, 2020 at Memorial Hospital, from a short illness at the age of 62.  He was born July 4, 1958 in Tachikawa, Japan to parents Lt. Col. H. W. Vanatta and Patti (Nowlan) Vanatta. Lee grew up in Claremont, Virginia, and was a graduate of Walsingham Academy (1976) and Old Dominion University (1980).

He is survived by his wife, Amy (Sanders) Vanatta; his son Dr. Sean H. Vanatta, his wife Sara, and their daughters Elliot and Sawyer; his daughter Alison (Vanatta) Lamb, her husband Justin Lamb, and their children Penelope and Justin Jr.; and his step-daughters Megan, Amanda, and Abigail Rice. Lee loved history, the south, the water, Georgia football, Manchester United, his church, and, more than anything else, his family. Lee's memory will be celebrated in private ceremonies in Savannah and Claremont.
