David Lee Miller

David Lee Miller, 65, of Savannah, GA, died September 16, 2020.

He was born March 29, 1955, in Indianapolis, Indiana, raised by Harold and Janice Soots.

Dave joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1976 and served as part of the Search and Rescue mission for five years at Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah. Graduated from Armstrong State College in 1983.

He worked at Gulfstream, GE, CRSS, and then was an entrepreneur in many technological areas. Present Day, he was a Delivery Service Provider for Amazon in Port Wentworth, where he was very proud of his many employees and their accomplishments.

Dave was one-of-a-kind, youthful, and lived life to the fullest. He was an avid kayaker and bicycler. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rebecca (Becki) Ashley Miller; his two daughters and their spouses, Zach and Meagan Haas, John and Amanda (Mandy) Blower. He was a proud Pop Pop to five grandchildren, Tucker (5), Caroline (3), Finley (3), Riley (8 mos), Oliver (3 wks). Brothers and Sister, Bill Miller, Ray Soots, Eva Engelmann.

His family will have a private graveside memorial on Monday, September 21st, 2020 at Bonaventure Cemetery.

We're going to miss everything about him. Auditing vans in the morning without him spraying out vans is too quiet, and the early morning jokes while he got a Diet Coke are already missed by drivers from every team. I'll miss the advice he shared, and the weird ways he'd tell me to fix things that actually worked. I hope for nothing but peace and comfort for the family.

I think most of us still in shock...it's hard to believe we just saw Dave the other morning running around as he usually did trying to give hand to anyone needing help, accommodating and making us all feel secure and taken care of. Dave was the best boss in my 22 year work career hands down. Knowing him just for a year made me a better person. He was an extraordinary kind caring thoughtful upbeat optimist that definitely be missed by so many. My deepest condolences, thoughts and prayers go to Becki and Dave's family. I was truly blessed to know him even for such a short time. I'm grateful for everything Dave did for me and many others. You will be truly missed, Dave.
