Ernestine Alice Stanley Estill, 93, passed away Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She was born July 12, 1927 in Guyton, GA to the late Paul M. and Ethel Hurst Stanley. Mrs. Estill was of the Baptist faith and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George Estill, and her daughter, Kathryn Wheeler.
Surviving are her son, Knowles Shaw Hamrick, III, two daughters, Karen Cowart, and Donna Brantley, all of Savannah. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Jeff Vanscooter, Laura Palmer, Angela Tidwell, Leslie Wheeler, Richard Slack, Jr., Lt. Colonel William Slack, Sr., Andrew Cowart, and Sean Lockwood, as well as fourteen great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at the Columbarium in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Laura, we are so sorry to hear about your grandmother. I only met her one time, but I think she was a very special person as well as pretty spunky. I can only imagine how hard these past months have been on you guys. Keep your memories close, because I do believe you have many to comfort you. Prayers to you and your family.
