J. Desmond "Desi" Patterson, Jr.
Passed away on August 13, 2020
James Desmond “Desi” Patterson, Jr., 63, of Savannah, passed away peacefully at home Thursday, August 13, 2020. He was born May 26, 1957. He was the son of James Desmond Patterson, Sr, (deceased), and Betty G. Patterson of Savannah. In addition to his father, he was predeceased by his sister, Linda K. Smith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his sisters, Patricia Patterson of Tybee Island, and Elizabeth Woods of Savannah.
After working many years in the family marine business in Savannah, he pursued his love of music by entertaining at nursing and assisted living facilities in Georgia and South Carolina, where he was loved by all.
Services and burial will be private.
Patty, My heart aches for you, your mom and Elizabeth. It’s difficult losing any loved one but to me a sibling has been the most painful and not having the chance to say goodbye. I have you all in my thoughts and prayer. Love Nancy Anderson

Dear Mrs. Patterson, Liz and Patty- I am so very sorry for your loss. I have never known a nicer, more genuine person than Desi. He was a great friend to several of us, all the way back from high school to now. Try to take some comfort in the fact that he brought much happiness to many people through his music. Desi was a kind, caring and sensitive friend. The opportunity to have a life-long friend is a true blessing, and we were blessed to know him.. He was able to take his greatest talent of music and share it with so many others. His music and Christian love will be missed. We remember you all in prayer at this time. Mrs.Patterson, Patty and Liz, We are very sorry to hear about the passing of Desi. It was a shock and heartbreaking. Lonnie has been friends with Desi since 9th grade at Bible Baptist School. Desi and three other guys loved to play music together in "their band" with Desi as their leader. He was a nice person and a true friend. He will be missed by all those who knew him.
