Nokomis "Nokie" Forrester

Nokomis “Nokie” Forrester, 89, entered eternal rest peacefully, Monday, July 27, 2020.

Nokie was born in Mississippi, April 8, 1931. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing, seafood and watching the blue birds and classic movies at her home. She enjoyed traditional country music, Neil Diamond, Julio Iglesias, and Elvis Presley gospel music. She was a woman who never met a stranger and was a friend to many. She was a founding member of Islands Assembly of God Church. Nokie was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, Marvin Forrester and brothers, Elbert Dickinson, and Clyde Dickinson.

Surviving is her son, Quill Forrester. Quill is very grateful to the staff, doctors and caretakers that provided loving care and support to Nokie.

A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2020. in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please make remembrances to the Arbor Day Foundation or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Quill, your mother was one of the sweetest, most giving people I have ever met. She was a Charter Member of Islands Assembly. That is how we met. We spent many precious times together. She was a very Godly woman and loved to have good clean fun. She will be missed but it won't be long before we are all together again.
