Evelyn Claire Evans Harrison
Passed away on August 15, 2018
Evelyn Claire Harrison, age 74 of Savannah, GA departed this life on August 15, 2018. She was born April 3, 1944 in Dallas, Texas. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Dr. Robert B. Evans, III and Alice Claire Evans, and her husband Robert Lee Harrison, III. She was a life-long Episcopalian and a member of Daughters of the King. She and husband Robert were long-time members of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Isle of Hope, Savannah. She was also a volunteer for over 10 years at Peachtree Hospice of Atlanta.
She leaves behind two sons, Robert Lee Harrison and friend Anne of Atlanta, and John Alvin Harrison and wife Tara of Jacksonville, FL, who she accepted as a daughter that she never had. In addition, she leaves a sister, Sue Anne Jones and husband Leslie of Tennessee, and brother Robert B. Evans, IV and wife Ellen of Texas. The had several nieces and nephews.
The Memorial Service will be held at St. Thomas Episcopal Church (date and time to be announced) with Rev. Melanie Lemburg presiding. A Burial Service will follow in the gardens of the church next to her husband.
The family of Mrs. Harrison wishes to extend their deepest appreciation to the medical and administrative staff of Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center for their dedicated and compassionate care of Claire for many years.
May fond memories and the love of one another continued to comfort and strengthen the Harrison family for your loss. Please know that God is close to the broken-hearted. He will continue to help you get through these most difficult times “Psalm 147:3”

Thank you all so much for your thoughts. I love and miss her so much. She was a sweet godly woman that I can always come to for just to listen and or talk to her. She just always treated me so kindly. I love her heart too. Update: The funeral has been changed to Thursday, September 20th, 2018 at 1:30 PM. Thank you

To Claire's Family: I met Claire last year at Riverview. I was the caregiver for Bea Martin who was Claire's roommate there for a few months. Bea passed away on March 23, 2017. Claire was so great with Bea and really looked out for her. I appreciated that so much. She gave Bea so much encouragement to try & get better and uplift her. God Bless Claire & her family. You are in my thoughts & Prayers.
