Celebrating the life of

Nancy Rebecca Peavy Arnsdorff

November 13, 1945 - July 05, 2020

Nancy Rebecca Peavy Arnsdorff

Nancy Rebecca Peavy Arnsdorff, 74, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Memorial University Medical Center. She was born in Savannah, Georgia to the late Willard and Frances Peavy and was a member of The Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist.

She was a graduate of Savannah High School, where she met her husband of 55 years, Bruce Arnsdorff.

For several years, she owned and operated a daycare center, Charlie Brown’s Clubhouse prior to working for the board of education for over 10 years.

Nancy was a very artistic and creative women and used her talents to benefit several organizations.  She volunteered as director of the fashion show fundraiser for Benedictine Military School (BC) for 13 years.  She also served as the chairman for the BC PTA Bizarre and the BC Athletic Association’s Hospitality Day.   Later in life she lent her talents to the Knights of Columbus #5588 Ladies Auxiliary and assisted with Family Fun day, Easter egg hunts, Halloween parties, Breakfast with Santa, Kentucky Derby Viewing party and many other fundraisers.

A large part of her life was spent with Marilyn Youman’s dance studio.  She danced for over 20 years then continued to be involved by assisting with baton twirling competitions, nursing home and community performances, and served as the emcee for the annual dance recital.  She shared her love of dancing with her daughter and her granddaughters.

While she was happy to devote her time and talents to these organizations, her true love was her family. Lovingly called Momsey by her grandchildren, she could be found playing dress up, hosting tea parties, reading Peter Rabbit, counting freckles, decorating for every holiday, providing lessons in “how to be a lady”, or attending every school event…sports, dance, choir, etc., showing just how much “I love you more”.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Arnsdorff, children Scott Arnsdorff (Cyndi), Hank Arnsdorff (Sheila), Becky Arnsdorff Bright (Dennis) and Andy Arnsdorff, 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. A Rosary will be held at 6:00 p.m.

I really enjoyed the times we sat together sharing our family history’s and life experiences. Since the day you came in my life you filled my heart with so much kindness and love.
