Celebrating the life of

Dorothy Ann Porter McNerney

Passed away on August 22, 2018

Dorothy Ann Porter McNerney

Dorothy Ann Porter McNerney was born September 12, 1940, and died Wednesday, August 22, 2018.  She graduated from Savannah High School and Armstrong College.  She wed Charles F. (Chuck) McNerney in 1965 and they moved to Atlanta where they remained until early 2000 after which they moved back to Savannah and salt water roots.  She enjoyed traveling, bridge, and most of all her nieces, nephews, and lots of loyal friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chuck, parents Fred and Kate Porter, sister Betty, and brother Harold.

She leaves behind two sisters, Jenny Lee, Atlanta, and Kathy Smith, Statesboro, and many nieces and nephews who were her "kids".   She was loved and supported by all of them and her beloved friends who helped care for her.  We are grateful to Ogeechee Hospice for their extraordinary kindness and care this past week.

We are comforted knowing she is in good Hands.

Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, August 25th, at 3:30 p.m.at Bonaventure Cemetery, Greenwich Section, with Pastor Robert Braswell officiating.

There will be a celebration to honor her remarkable and blessed life after the service at 4:45 p.m. at Savannah Golf Club, 1661 East President Street.

In lieu of flowers, please send remembrances to Ogeechee Area Hospice, P.O. Box 531, Statesboro, GA 30459-0531.
