My heart is so heavy that my dear friend is gone but so happy that she is pain free and sporting her angel wings and shiny halo! She was truly one of a kind! Funny serious poetic jokester teacher and a heart bigger than the universe! She never failed to tell us that she loved us! It was with great sadness that I read of Elaine’s passing. I have many memories of my time as a first time principal, working with Elaine. I know how she struggled with many of my decisions in the beginning, but I always knew that whatever actions she took or words she spoke, that she did so with the best interest of your son and the students at heart. I had tremendous admiration for Elaine. She was an extraordinary teacher. I never walked into her classroom to find anything but the best instruction taking place. I could always depend on her calm demeanor, and positive attitude. I also knew that if something was asked of her it would be done and done well. She was truly a gift to all of the children she taught. May God be with you and comfort you in your loss and may you always feel her presence with you and feel comfort knowing she is in a better place.
