I was so shocked to hear about Blake. I still am in shock really. He was such a wonderful person. Blake helped me with my dog Jezebel. She absolutely loved him. And I guess I didn’t realize until I heard the news how much he meant to me too. I had talked to Blake in April and I knew he had been battling issues with his liver. I just did not expect to hear this news. I think of Blake as a strong person. I know he loved his family (especially his children) and he loved animals. I am so very sorry for your loss. You are all in my prayers.

Blake was the only person in Savannah that could handle our German Shepherd, Magnum. During Magnum's many visits he became a member and protector of their family. True friends are very difficult to find and Blake was one of those and will be deeply missed, especially by Magnum. So long Blake from Magnum, Matt, Ingrid, Parla, Parker and Cole.

- Joe E Anderson, Hinesville, GA

Robyn,Jane,George,Biza,Drayton,Bryanand Mrs Quattlebaum please know you are in my thoughts and prayers! I’m still in shock about Blake! He was one of my oldest friends and a truly great guy. I believe we met in a tidal creek when he was 7 and I was 5. He pulled the biggest alligator snapping turtle I have ever seen out of that creek/drainage ditch! The turtle went to the Quattlebaum Zoo (ie their backyard on the bluff) and Blake and I became friends that day! I find solace in one thing that is certain, that Blake was in the palm of God’s hand at least a full hour before the devil knew he was gone! Godspeed to all of the Quattlebaums and extended family!

To the Quattlebaum Family.....sadden to learn of Blake's passing. He lived a full life and is now free of the chains that bound him to this Earth. May he rest in peace. Regards, Brother Logan

A candle has been lit!

I only just recently heard of Blake's departure to be with the Lord. I was not only shocked but deeply saddened by the news. I love that the family requested trees be planted in his honor. Blake would have loved that. Maybe he spoke with them about this before his passing. I planted another Drake Elm my yard so I can watch it grow to be a beautiful reminder of how much Blake enjoyed the outdoors. I know his always loving family will miss him every day but I know they can have some peace in knowing that their loved one is most definitely in heaven.
