Celebrating the life of
Martha Elizabeth Painter
Passed away on August 19, 2018
Martha Elizabeth Painter, 78, of Tampa, FL passed away following a battle with colon cancer on August 19, 2018.
Martha was the daughter of Dorothy M. Meeks and Robert W. Meeks, born on February 5th, 1940 in Savannah, GA. She was predeceased by her daughter Karen Hendricks Ard and brother Robert W. Meeks.
Survivors include her son Bryan Hendricks, her daughter Wendi Hendricks, and grandchildren Breigh Ard, Benjamin Hendricks, Ray Ard, Ethan Hendricks, Camryn Endris and great grandson David Carter. She is also survived by her loving brother Bennett J. Schiller III and David Schiller.
Martha was a compassionate, loving soul and was the one constant for her family and friends to lean on across a lifetime of joys, successes and sacrifices. She lived a very full life in many places: Savannah GA, Chesapeake Beach MD, and Tampa FL - but Tybee Island was always her home. She loved “the beach” and was happiest sharing her love of being near the water with her friends and family – sunning, fishing, crabbing and sticking her toes in the sand!
A celebration of Martha’s life will be held on Saturday, September 22 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel at 4605 US Highway 80 E., Savannah, GA. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m.
