Anita M. Quante

Anita M. Quante

Anita Mahany Quante, age 91, died on February 17, 2020 in Candler Hospital surrounded by her husband and grandchildren.

She was born on October 19, 1928 in Savannah, GA .  She lived in Savannah all of her life and made her home on Isle of Hope. 
She completed two years of college at the University of Georgia.  

She was an active leader with the Girl Scouts.  She was a swimming instructor and lifeguard for the Red Cross.  She loved dancing, especially line dancing, and performed with The Silver Liners. She was a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Ascension and a member of the Savannah Elks Auxiliary.

Surviving are her husband, Albert H. Quante of Savannah, GA, her daughters Dr. Alice Libet (Julian), Arlene D’Aguillo (Tony), and Dr. Angela Forand.  She has six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and many other loving relatives.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday February 22 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. The funeral Service will be at 2:00 on February 22, 2020 at the same location.

Interment will follow at the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Anthony D’Aguillo, Jared Libet, Adam Forand, Bill Quante, Tim Quante and Albert J. Quante

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests remembrances be made in her memory to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or Red Cross.
