Ethel Madden Mahnken died April 27th at Hospice Savannah. Ethel was born in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1934 where she attended Tudor Hall and was a graduate of Briarcliff Junior College in Briarcliff Manor, New York. She lived for many years in Darien, Connecticut, moving to Savannah in 1984. She volunteered her floral design talents in many areas, especially for the Telfair Museum of Art where she was a recipient of the Gertrude West Hollowbush Award for her volunteer work.
She is survived by her husband, Chandler; four children, Thomas Norton of Manchester Village, Vermont, Nancy Batchelor of Burlingame, California, Janet Sniffen of Naples, Florida and William Kenneth Norton of Wallingford, Vermont; and eight grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday at Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.
