Anne Yarbrough Burk

Mrs. Anne Yarbrough Burk died Monday, May 8, 2006, following a long illness, at Hospice of Savannah. She was 80.
Mrs. Burk was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Linton Yarbrough and Leola Thomas Yarbrough also very recently by her brother Dr. Jesse LeRoy Yarbrough. Surviving are her husband, Keith Burk, with whom she recently shared their 60th anniversary. Also surviving: brother Richard Yarbrough and sister-in-law Nancy Yarbrough, of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law Mary Yarbrough; daughter Deborah Burk Scott and husband Ian Scott; son Alan Max Burk, wife Kelise Burk and grandsons Dustin Burk, Michael Burk and Max Burk of Seattle, Washington, along with many nieces and nephews.
Born on October 26, 1925 in Savannah, she graduated Savannah High School and Armstrong Junior College and later attended UGA in Athens. She married Keith in 1946, who she met when he was stationed at Hunter during WWII. They raised a family in Schenectady, NY where she worked as an accountant for General Electric Co. for 32 years and then retired back home to Savannah in 1987.
A graveside memorial gathering of family and friends will be on Saturday, May 13, 2006 at 2:00pm in Greenwich Cemetery.
