Donald W. “Dandy” Newman, Sr.
Donald W. Newman, Sr. 68 died Wednesday May 24, 2006 at Hospice Savannah. The native of Zellwood, Florida had been a resident of Savannah since 1978. Pior to moving to Savannah he served in the United States Navy and worked as a supervisor for the 7-11 food stores. In Savannah he was the owner and operator of Don’s Handy Pantry. He was member of the Wilmington Island Club and his major interests were his family and golf.
Survivors: His wife; Sandra H. Newman, of Savannah, two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Garry Akins, of Savannah and Dawn and Russell King, of Atlanta. One son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Angela Newman, Jr., of Savannah. One brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Aurora Newman, of Savannah, one sister; Mrs. Sandra Powell, of Orlando, FL, six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday May 25, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel.

Funeral Service: 12:00 p.m. Friday May 26, 2006 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Patrick O’Brien officiating.
