Mildred B. Pitman, 93 died Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Charles Cannon Memorial Hospital in Newland, North Carolina. She was born on August 12, 1912 in Albany, GA She was a member of White Bluff United Methodist Church where she was active in her Sunday School class, the missionary society, and the Social Seniors. She was also a former member of Beta Signa Phi and was a Pink Lady at Memorial Health University Medical Center where she worked in the gift shop.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert D. Pitman and a grandson, Mark Starling.

She is survived by two daughters, Barbara P. Starling, Bulloch County, and Mickie P. Price, of Newland, NC., two sisters, Evelyn B. Davis, of Laurinburg, NC, and Dorothy B. Haily, of Charlotte, NC., and four grandsons and their wives, David and Debbie Starling, of Guyton, GA, Kevin and Barbara Starling, of Bulloch County, GA, Keith and Donna Starling, of Ellabell, Ga. and Mike Adkinson, of Jacksonville, FL. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Kelly, Forrest, Jason and his wife, Jenny, Ashleigh, Joseph, Paige, and Christopher, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 3 to 4 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Sunday, July 2, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
