ANN PEARCE MOYE
Ann Pearce Moye passed away September 3, 2006 at Spanish Oaks Retreat under the care of hospice.
The Greenwood, South Carolina native has resided in Savannah for over 50 years. Following her marriage to Wallace Moye, she lovingly supported him in the operation of Moye’s Sewing Center for over 34 years, while raising two daughters, a son and her cat, “Christmas”. She was an active member of Bull Street Baptist Church, teaching the Good Sisters Sunday School Class for over 30 years. Her passion for history was shared with others by giving tours at the Davenport House where she was a docent for 21 years. She was honored by the Historic Savannah Foundation for her service to the Davenport House. This passion for history led her to share her knowledge with various service organizations, church groups and schools. Her days were devoted to serving God, her customers and others as she gave of her time and talents unselfishly.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Merrell James and Kate Pearce and her two brothers, Merrell James, Jr. and Joe Wyllie Pearce.
Surviving are, her husband Wallace Moye Sr., her daughter, Melodie M. Moore and daughter and son- in- law, Melissa and Marvin Metzger and her only son and daughter- in – law, W.D., Jr. and Dawn Moye and two grandchildren, Tyler Moore and Caitlin Moye and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2006 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 3 p.m. at Bull Street Baptist Church with burial in Bonaventure Cemetery.
