Annie Mae Hunter, 96, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at Ogeechee Area Hospice.
The native of Oliver, Georgia was born on August 24, 1910 to the late Wilbur Thompson and Minnie Scott Hunter. She lived is Savannah for over sixty years before moving to Willow Pond Home in Statesboro fifteen months ago. Miss. Hunter retired from Union Camp Corp. and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Carolyn Hunter and her three brothers and sister-in-laws, Wilbur and Lessie Hunter, Jack and Edith Hunter and Daniel and Lena Mae Hunter.
She is survived by three nieces, Audrey Salter of Hinesville, Crystal Flathman and Diane Conley both of Savannah; seven nephews, Carl and Elton Hunter of Statesboro, Tommy, Johnny, Brian, and Greg Hunter all of Savannah, and Gerald Hunter of Brunswick.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, September 7, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 8, 2006 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Friday in Oliver City Cemetery.
