Ruth Sibley Durant

Ruth Sibley Durant, age 89, died Sunday, October 8, 2006, at Marshview Inn. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah was a graduate of Savannah High School and Armstrong State College. She was a member of the Pilot Club, a former member of Independent Presbyterian Church and was retired from Palmer and Cay Insurance Co. Miss Durant was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Milton and Daisy Sibley Durant, and her brothers, Frank M. Durant, Jr., Henry S. Durant and Clinton S. Durant.
Surviving are three nephews, Frank M. Durant, III of Savannah and Donald S. Durant of Richmond Hill; a niece, Carolyn Durant of Clayton, GA; and three great-nephews, Donald S. Durant, Jr., Gil H. Durant, and Seth J. Durant, all of Atlanta and Stuart Kent of Richmond Hill; and a sister-in-law, Isabel H. Durant of Savannah. She will be remembered by her family as a gentle, gracious and loving aunt.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday in Bonaventure Cemetery with Rev. Stephen F. Lane officiating.

The family suggests that remembrances be made to a favorite Hospice organization.
