Vera L. Parrish, age 80, died at her residence in Mims, FL on Thursday, October 19, 2006.
She was born in Twin City, Georgia and lived in the Ft. Stewart area, formerly Willie, Georgia until the evacuation. She graduated from Commercial High School in 1943. A life-time resident of Savannah, Mrs. Parrish moved to Titusville, Florida in 2000 to be nearer family.
Mrs. Parrish was former Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner of Chatham County and retired in July of 1988 from that position after thirty-three years of service. She was a long-time member of Bull Street Baptist Church and a member of the T.E.L. Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a daughter Sandra Lynn Grier and son-in-law Elwyn, Granddaughters Rebecca Nordby and her husband Jim, Teresa Watson and her husband Carl, Great Grandsons Aaron and Nathan Watson and Great Granddaughter, Ashely Nordby all of Titusville, Florida.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel,
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
