Claire Klug Youmans

Passed away on December 03, 2019

Claire was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all that knew her.

Claire Klug Youmans, died peacefully at Candler/St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday morning, December 3, 2019.

The lifelong resident of Savannah was the daughter of the late C. Frederick and Ida Tyson Klug. Claire attended Blessed Sacrament Catholic School and Marymount Junior College. She was a 1963 graduate of St. Vincent’s Academy.

Claire was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by her beloved husband and best friend of 47 years, Reemer Ebb Youmans, Jr.; her two sons, Reemer Ebb Youmans, III (Connell) and Charles Tyson Youmans; and her grandchildren, Ebb, Lane, Neil and Reid.

In addition to her parents, Claire was predeceased by an infant son and her Uncle, Charles Tyson.

Claire will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and all who had the opportunity to know her. Good times were always shared with love and laughter. Claire was always thoughtful and generous. She enjoyed celebrating special occasions with joy. Claire especially enjoyed baking for special friends on their special occasions.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 5, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Bishop J. Kevin Boland officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

The family would like to thank Claire’s dearest friend, Suzanne Everett. Inseparable since grade school, Suzanne never left Claire’s side. The family would also like to thank the nurses and staff at Candler/St. Joseph’s ICU for the care and compassion given to Claire during her illness.
