Udell Hackle Thigpen

Savannah- Udell Hackle Thigpen, 89, died on Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Hospice House of Hospice Savannah, Inc. Born in Toombs County, Georgia, she lived most of her life in Savannah, most recently at Summer Breeze Assisted Living Community on Wilmington Island. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church and a member of the Clara Knight Circle. Mrs. Thigpen was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-seven years, William Zirkle Thigpen and a daughter, Gail Thigpen Carter.
She is survived by two daughters, Sharon Thigpen Deal and her husband, Billy, and Loxie Thigpen Lamar and her husband, C.B.; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Rev. Everett Tumblin officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
