Dr. Robert B. Quattlebaum, Jr.
Dr. Robert B. Quattlebaum, Jr., died Monday, January 1, 2007 at Candler Hospital. He was born Robert Baskin Quattlebaum, Jr., son of Lucy Mathews and Robert B. Quattlebaum, Sr. Robyn on March 6, 1933 in Roanoke, Alabama. He graduated from Taft Prep School in Watertown, CT. He achieved the rank of Eagle Scout before the age of 18. He attended Vanderbilt University graduating with his B.A. Degree. He then entered the Air Force to proudly serve our country for 2 years. He was then accepted to the University of Alabama Medical School and graduated in 1961. After internship, he began his seven-year residency in General Surgery and Urology at UAB. He moved to Savannah in 1967 and opened his private practice as a solo physician. He practiced until his retirement in 2003.
He was President of the Georgia Medical Society, Georgia Urological Society, as well as both Treasurer and President of the Southeastern Section of the American Urology Association. He was currently serving as a Board member of the Coastal Gardens and Bamboo Farms, and recently raised more money in their city-wide membership drive than anyone. He was also a graduate of the University of Georgia Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners Program and was an active member of the Coastal Master Gardeners Association. He was a faithful member of the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church since 1972, where he had served as a Sunday School Teacher. He was also a member of the Berean Sunday School Class, where he had taught for over a year. He did more for people than any words can ever express.
He is survived by his loving wife, Fall Binford Quattlebaum, his children, Robert Baskin Quattlebaum, III Robyn, Jane Fall Quattlebaum, Blake Binford Quattlebaum, George Wilkins Quattlebaum, Elizabeth Anne Quattlebaum Mabry Biza, and seven wonderful grandchildren, a son-in-law, and many wonderful daughters-in-law.

Services will be held on Thursday, January 4, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. A reception will follow in the church social hall.
