Harriett J. Haines

Harriett Owens Johnson Haines, 83, died Saturday, January 06, 2007 at her residence. She was a 1942 graduate of the Pape School and was a member of the Colonial Dames. She was a former member of the Junior League of Savannah and was a member of Christ Church. Mrs. Haines was a member of the Oglethorpe Club and was a former member of the Board of Directors of Bethesda. She was a very knowledgable collector of antiques and was an excellent interior decorator. She loved to travel the world and was a gracious hostess at many parties where she was always beautifully dressed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Garrard Haines, Jr., her parents, William R. Johnson, Sr. and Clifford O. Bell, her twin brother, George O. Johnson, Sr. and brother, William R. Johnson.

She is survived by three nephews, George O. Johnson, Jr., and his wife Kristen, of Richmond Hill, William R. Johnson, III, of Liberty County, and Garrard Johnson, of Liberty County. Also three nieces, Clifford W. Glowth and her husband Bret, of Orlando, Sharlene Scheler and her husband Nelson, of Texas, and Harriett J. Edgerly, of Lousiana.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Bonaventure Cemetery.
