Johnny A. O’Quinn, Jr.
Savannah- Johnny A. O’Quinn, Jr., 78, died Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at his home on Wilmington Island.
He was a life long resident of Savannah who proudly served in the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corp. While serving in the Marines, he was part of “Savannah’s Dog Company”. He retired from Savannah Gas Company after 38 years of service. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Helen Jeanette O’Quinn.
Survivors include two daughters, Shelly O’Quinn Bevill and Vivian O’Quinn Woods; son, Johnny A. O’Quinn, III; seven grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Adam Bevill, Caitlin Bevill, Matt Woods, Stephen Woods, Jeremy Woods and Johnny O’Quinn, IV; three great-grandchildren, Grace Pena`, Devon Tyler O’Quinn and Lydia Smith; two brothers, Donald E. O’Quinn and Ronald W. O’Quinn and companion, Gloria Carter.
Visitation will be from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.
Memorial Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Dr. David Laughner officiating.
