James Joseph Groves, Jr.

Savannah - James Joseph Groves, Jr., age 66, died Thursday, March 8, 2007, after a short illness, under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc., at Hospice House. The native and lifelong resident of Savannah attended local parochial schools and graduated from Savannah High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Mr. Groves worked in the construction business. He was preceded in death by his parents, James J. and Virginia Toombs Groves and his uncle, Charles W. Groves.
Surviving are his sister and brother-in-law, Kathryn G. and Wayne C. Sullivan of Savannah; his nieces, Elizabeth G. Sullivan and Virginia D. Sullivan, both of Atlanta; and his aunt, Mrs. Charles W. Groves of Savannah.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2007, in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery with The Rev. Jeremiah J. McCarthy officiating.
