Bernice H. Douglas

Savannah, GA- Bernice Hendrix Douglas, age 86, died Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at Hospice House. A native of Bulloch County, she had lived in Savannah most of her life, most recently at Habersham House. Mrs. Douglas retired from Memorial Health University Medical Center in 1986 as Supervisor of Communications, after thirty years of service. She was a member of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Jacob Prescott Jones and John R. Douglas.
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra J. Wilson of Savannah and Dr. Susan J. Mahany and her husband, Michael, of Savannah; a sister, Jane Breedlove of Swainsboro, GA; six grandchildren, Sean Wilson and wife, Wendy, Donald Wilson and wife, Amanda, Heather Webb and husband, Aaron, Jaime Mahany and husband, Mark Wynns, Benjamin Mahany, and Matthew Mahany; three great-grandchildren, Alayna Wilson, Audrey Wilson and Micah Webb; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel with Dr. Frank M. Parr officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
