John Hade Cribbs

John Cribbs, 98, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2018.
He was born in Evans County, GA on August 28, 1920 to the late Horace and Mary Cribbs. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William, Jake, Benjamin, and Wallace Cribbs and his sisters, Verdonia Cribbs Hendricks and Margie Cribbs Whalen.
John moved to Savannah in 1925 with his family. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. After the war he returned to Savannah where he owned several businesses until his retirement in 1989.
He was married for 54 wonderful years to Ruby Barrow Cribbs, deceased. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and John Bowers and Carol and James Ansley. He has two granddaughters, Angie Anderson and Jennifer Williams as well as 2 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 12, 2018, at the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family would like to thank the staff at Riverview Health and Rehabilitation Center for their excellent care and to “That Guy” Keith Grundy for all of his assistance.
