Henry Oliver Griffin, 92, died Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at Riverview Health and Rehab Center under the care of Vista Care Hospice. He was a native of Alamo, Ga. and lived in Savannah most of his life. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and Korea with the 82nd Airborne. He was a member of Solomon’s Lodge #1 F & AM, the Scottish Rite, Alee Temple and a member Emeritus of the Hillbilly Club. He was a member of Calvary in Savannah and was retired from the City of Savannah.
He is survived by his wife, Erline C. Griffin, of Savannah, two sons, Dan O. Griffin and his wife, Margaret, of Oklahoma City and David W. Grifffin, of Atlanta. He is also survived by five stepsons, Kerry B. Tuck, Randall K. Tuck, Jeffrey T. Tuck, Gregory B. Tuck, and Steven C. Tuck and his wife, Amy, all of Savannah, one half-sister, Adele Roach, of Savannah, two half-brothers, Andrew B. Smith and W. Jason Smith, both of Savannah and several grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 4, 2007 in the Wilder Chapel at Calvary in Savannah. Burial will be in Beaufort National Cemetery.
