MRS. MARIE HIMEL FOSTER
Mrs. Marie Himel Foster 79, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2007 at Spanish Oaks Retreat.
Marie was born on August 27, 1927, to Cornelia and Carl Louis Himel in Lake Charles, Louisiana. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harry Cecil Foster; daughter Elizabeth Cunningham of Houston, Texas; son Harry and wife Annette of Detroit, Michigan; son William and wife Mary of Naples. Florida; son Thomas and wife Lisa of Prosser, Washington, as well as eight grandchildren, three grandchildren and many other loving relatives.
Marie had a gift for making everyone in her presence feel at ease and welcome. Marie was kind and considerate to all and always ready to volunteer at her children’s schools, her church community. Her family and many friends will remember her generosity and the warmth of her smile.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church, 50 Diamond Causeway, Savannah, Georgia 31411.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church, Spanish Oaks Retreat of Savannah or the Alzheimer’s Association.
