David O'Brien

David M. O'Brien, Sr., age 91, of Atlanta, formerly of Savannah, died suddenly Saturday, June 2, 2007 at his home.

He was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He worked for the Central of Georgia Railway in Savannah for many years, transferred to Atlanta in 1965 and retired from the Norfolk Southern Railway. He was a veteran of WWII where he received the Bronze Star for service in the European Theatre.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marie Griffith O'Brien, daughter, Marie Wall of Savannah, sons David Jr. Susan and Rick Kathy both of Atlanta, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2007 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Islands Chapel with a Christian Wake Service at 6:00.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church.

Interment will follow in Catholic Cemetery.
