Opal Scarborough Falligant
Savannah- Opal Scarborough Falligant, 88, died Sunday, June 17, 2007 at her home.
She was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church, Independent Presbyterian Women’s Circle and Hull Presbyterian Ladies Group. Mrs. Falligant was a supporter of Shalom Scripture Studies. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Quarterman Falligant.
She is survived by her daughter, Jean Simmons of Savannah; brothers, Alexander A. Scarborough of LaGrange, GA and Bennie Scarborough of Cochran, GA; grandchildren, James Simmons of Charleston, SC, Renee Simmons of Savannah, John Claude Simmons of Savannah and Jennifer Edmonds of Beaufort, SC; great grandchildren, Justin Simmons of Charleston, SC, Zachary Peeples of Beaufort, SC and Gabe and Chloe Simmons of Savannah.
The family will receive Visitors from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at the Islands Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel with Bishop Tim Moore and Reverend Ronald Parrish, officiating.
Pallbearers will be Michael Edmonds, Jeremy Williams, Ronnie Callaway, Sr., Scott Brooks, Ronnie Callaway, Jr. and Steve Stafford.
Honorary Pallbearers will be her brothers, Alexander Scarborough and Benny Scarborough and great grandsons, Gabe Simmons, Zachary Peeples, and Justin Simmons.
Interment will follow in the Historic Bonaventure Cemetery.
