Bob was such a good person and the best boss I've ever had. He taught me so much about photojournalism and really took care of his employees. He is going to be missed by all who knew him. My thoughts are with his family.

We, the ones that got to 'grow up' with you in our journalism profession, are so lucky. Every community newspaper across our great country would be a better place to live and enjoy really good, thought-out photographs if a Bob McDonald blessed their town and newspaper. He taught me, 'A photographer is a reporter with a camera and Scott, don't ever forget that.' Bob, I never have and I'll never forget one of the few real people that I admired so much. You will be missed by so many that admired and loved you. You were a guiding light for me when I first started out in the world of photography but you also taught me so much about life. You taught me to be honest, be creative and enjoy life. I would not have become who am I today without you and your precious wisdom. May the warmth of heaven hug you forever.

Blessed be Dad and I will someday see you on the other side. I love you with all my heart and soul. Deborah

Bob McDonald was one of the best souls I've ever known. He treated everyone with respect and led his photo staff at Today Newspaper in Brevard County Florida by example. I had the privilege of working with Bob at Today Newspaper from 1974 through 1977. We stayed in touch through all of the years until his death this week. Bob was a perceptive, very bright, accomplished professional who always saw the good in the world around him. He constantly had a genuine twinkle in his eyes and a spirit that soared above most others. He touched many lives throughout the years and I am grateful for our 34 year friendship. Bob will be missed by everyone who knew this special man. He may have passed from our world but he will never be forgotten.

Working for you at TODAY Newspaper was a joy & privilege I won't ever forget. They were the best & happiest 5 years of my career. I will miss our late night chats on AOL that gave us a chance to catch up on the old days. Our memory of you will stay with us forever. Our prayers are with you and your family. Goodbye my friend.

Robert or Chief, Working for you was such an experience that I will never forget. You taught me so much more about photography in two months than I learned in two years in photography school. We all at the paper missed you when you retired and now we will miss you again.
