Geraldine Redmond Fields died Saturday, June 23, 2007 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.
She was born in Candler County, Georgia to Bertha Cartee Redmond and Valmore Israel Redmond.
She was educated in Chatham County Schools and was a longtime employee as a Nurse’s Aide at the Chatham Nursing Home. She was a longtime member of Calvary in Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alonzo Franklin Fields, and her sister, Mary Redmond Graham.
She is survived by two sons, William Franklin Fields, of Charlotte, N.C., and Edwin Redmond Fields, of Tallahassee, FL, four grandchildren, Sarah Lynn Fields, Rebecca Anne Fields, Matthew Franklin Fields, and Hunter Patrick Fields, all of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Lafayette Redmond, of Savannah.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m., Monday, June 25, 2007 in the Greenwich section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Remembrances to the American Red Cross or Calvary Baptist Temple.
