SAVANNAH - Emma Zoran Lusckus Luchun, widow of the late Victor Lusckus and the late Charles Luchun died July 2, 2007, under the care of Odyssey Hospice, at the age of 97, surrounded by family and friends. She was the daughter of Albert and Emma Zoran. In 1928 she arrived on Ellis Island to join her mother and was hired by Russell Market to dance on Broadway in many wonderful musical shows. Later, Maria Gamberelli, former prima ballerina of the Metropolitan Opera, formed a dance group similar to Radio City’s Rockettes, and hired Emma to be fourth from the left in line. She toured the United States until 1932 when she married.
She lived in New York City and Connecticut until 2003 when she relocated to Savannah to be with her family.
Survivors are her daughter, Ginny Haberlin and husband, Page; granddaughter, Susan Ross and husband, Roger; and three great-grandchildren, Ryan, Allyssa and Ryker.
There will be a Memorial Mass at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9th at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church on Concord Road, Wilmington Island, Savannah, with The Rev. Patrick O’Brien officiating. There are no calling hours.
